The Feast was a collaborative project with my 17 classmates. The 100 guest dinner party event utilized all aspects of our design skill sets. Together, we created dishware, napkins, light fixtures, tables, seating, and decorative adornments for all the guests to experience. Prior to the event each guest had to purchase a ticket which provided them with a meal catered by Party Bar in Eugene, live music, and the opportunity to take the objects at their place setting home with them.
On this project, I was a part of the furniture team with seven of my classmates. Together we ideated, prototyped, and created our final tables and benches for the event. The tables were large slabs of concrete form plywood that we were able to rig to the ceiling with aircraft wire and fasteners. The benches were created with the same material and secured with screws. Our goal was to maximize the use of our donated material, as well as to save time during our assembly process due to our limited timeline.
In addition to furniture, I also created 16 of my large Bloom Dinner Set Plates along with 10 small plates for the event's guests.
